Privacy policy
These notes explain how personal data is processed when you visit our website, send us an enquiry or follow a link to our booking system. Personal data means information relating to an identified or identifiable person, such as contact details or an IP address.
1. Who is responsible
The controller for this website and the handling of guest enquiries is:
KL Off Grid AB
Organisation number: 559562-5046
Södra Rågeboda 2107
283 94 Lönsboda, Sweden
Email: info@rageboda.homes
Telephone: +46 479 43 01 43
Please use these contact details for privacy questions or to exercise your rights. Further operator information is available in our legal notice.
2. Visiting the website and hosting
When you request a page, technical connection data is processed. This includes your IP address, the date and time, the requested address, the response status and browser information supplied with the request. It may also include the referring page, if your browser sends it. This information is needed to deliver the website and to identify and investigate technical faults and abusive access.
Hosting is managed by RocketWeb, using server infrastructure from Hetzner Online GmbH, Industriestr. 25, 91710 Gunzenhausen, Germany. Service providers responsible for operation and maintenance may access technical data where necessary for those tasks. Further information is available in Hetzner’s privacy notice.
The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR: our legitimate interest in a reliable, secure and technically functional website. Retention of technical logs is determined by the need to analyse faults, prevent abuse and investigate specific security incidents. Further retention is justified only where the data is needed to resolve a particular incident or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.
3. Email and personal enquiries
If you write or telephone, we process the information you give us, such as your name, email address, telephone number, preferred travel dates and the contents of your message. We use it to answer your enquiry and prepare for a possible stay. Please do not send payment details or other particularly confidential information by unencrypted email.
Our business email is handled through Google Workspace. Google processes message contents, attachments and technical communication data to provide the service. It may use affiliated companies and other service providers; processing outside the European Economic Area is possible. Google’s contractual terms provide for data protection safeguards, including Standard Contractual Clauses. Details are available in the Google Cloud Data Processing Addendum. The Google Cloud Privacy Notice also covers service data for which Google acts as a controller.
For enquiries concerning a booking or steps before a booking, the legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Other enquiries are handled on the basis of our legitimate interest in reliable communication under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Providing information is voluntary, but we cannot give a useful answer without a way to contact you and the details needed to understand your enquiry.
4. Checking availability and booking
The date and guest selectors on this website help you reach the booking system; they are not a contact form. You select arrival, departure and the number of guests. Only when you click the availability button are those details passed to booking.rageboda.com as URL parameters. The external booking system opens in a new tab. Making a selection on this website does not create a booking or send us a message.
The booking system is provided using eviivo. It processes the information needed to search, book and, where applicable, pay. The service also receives the usual technical connection data when you open it. Please read the notices shown there and eviivo’s privacy policy. We process booking and guest details received by us where necessary to arrange and provide your stay, on the basis of Article 6(1)(b) GDPR. Legal obligations may require processing under Article 6(1)(c) GDPR.
5. Languages, cookies and technical functions
We use WPML for the German and English versions. The wp-wpml_current_language cookie stores the current language so that language-dependent functions use the appropriate version. It lasts for one day and is not used to analyse your behaviour for advertising. WordPress sets additional login and preference cookies for signed-in website administrators; this website does not offer guest account registration.
Processing of the language setting is based on our legitimate interest in a functional multilingual website under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can delete or block cookies in your browser, although this may affect language-dependent functions. Non-essential cookies or similar access would require consent in advance. We currently use no analytics or marketing cookies on this website.
6. Fonts, images, videos and external links
Roboto and the images used on the website are served from our own website files. Displaying the font does not connect your browser to Google Fonts. Social media references and editorial sources are ordinary links, not embedded social plugins. No external video player or interactive map is currently loaded automatically.
If you open an external link, the destination’s privacy information applies to your visit there. Its provider receives the usual connection data and, depending on browser rules, information about the referring website. Simply displaying a link does not send data to the linked service.
7. Recipients and retention
Access is limited to people and service providers who need it to operate the website, handle communications or arrange your stay. Data may also be disclosed to the relevant authorities where legally required, or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims. We do not share your data for another organisation’s advertising.
We retain enquiries for as long as needed to deal with them and resolve any related questions. Following a booking, further retention depends on performance of the contract and applicable statutory record-keeping duties. Once the purpose and any retention duty no longer apply, data must be deleted or anonymised. The criteria in section 2 apply to technical logs. You can ask us for information about recipients and the relevant safeguards for international transfers.
8. Your rights
Subject to the conditions in the GDPR, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.
Right to object: where processing is based on Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. We may then continue only where the legal conditions for doing so are met. You may object to processing for direct marketing at any time, without giving a reason.
You may complain to a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the country where you normally live or work, or where you believe an infringement took place. In Sweden, this is Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten (IMY). You do not have to contact us first.
On this website we do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects within the meaning of Article 22 GDPR, nor do we carry out profiling of that kind.
9. Changes to these notes
